Artona Armchair

Design

Artona is born from an extremely clear composition. Two L-shaped elements simultaneously form the lateral supports and armrests, while the seat and backrest complete a structure in which each component has an immediately recognizable function. The armchair appears as a small domestic architecture: the lateral planes define the seating space, conveying a sense of protection and stability, while the horizontal lines define a composed and intimate position.

A wooden micro-architecture

The external structure is the armchair's true expressive element. Artona does not hide the wood beneath the upholstery, but rather exposes it as a construction, decorative, and cultural material. Uprights, armrests, and crosspieces define a solid and visually stable frame. The interplay of layers animates the surfaces and reveals craftsmanship inspired by the tradition of Italian cabinetmaking, where quality relies on precision detail rather than aesthetics.

Comfort and Proportions

Artona offers a compact and cozy seat. The high, structural armrests define the body laterally, while the curved backrest softens the posture and introduces a sense of welcome within the wooden geometry. The padded seat creates a balanced contrast with the visual rigidity of the structure. Comfort comes not from excessively generous volumes, but from the precise relationship between height, inclination, and proportions.

Versatility and Setting

In the living room, Artona can be placed next to a sofa or used as a pair to create a cozy conversation area. Its refined structure and sculptural character also allow it to be enhanced as a standalone element. In a study or home office, the armchair provides a representative seating experience without becoming overly formal. It can also be placed in a bedroom, a home library, or a spacious entryway.
