The name Kasane evokes the Japanese concept of "layering," directly reflecting the idea behind the project. The structure arises from a rhythmic sequence of stacked volumes, inspired by the way cups stacked one atop another progressively increase in height. Nendo translates this principle into sinuous, continuous forms, turning the table base into a decorative element with an almost architectural character. The result is a distinctive silhouette capable of lending personality even to the most minimalist outdoor spaces.
Materials and finishes
The bases are crafted from high-density thermoplastic polymer, while the tabletops are made of marine-grade plywood—a material suitable for outdoor use. The surfaces are finished with a hand-applied blend of sand and clay, subsequently protected by a matte coating. This unique texture gives the table a pronounced tactile quality and a pleasing feel, highlighting subtle surface variations that make the finish a fundamental part of the product's identity. Kasane is available in Terracotta, Sand, Jade, and Stone shades—a palette inspired by natural colors that further emphasizes the relationship between form and material.
