Design

The Barcelona Daybed shares the essential language of the eponymous collection, expressing Mies van der Rohe's ability to transform simple forms and select materials into timeless objects. The linear base lightly elevates the mattress, while the regular pattern of the quilting introduces rhythm and depth. The balance between the warmth of the wood, the softness of the leather, and the precision of the steel creates a sophisticated composition, recognizable yet free of superfluous elements.

Comfort

The mattress is made of variable-density foam and covered with polyester fibers, offering balanced support and a feeling of uniform comfort. Eleven leather suspension straps support the cushions and enhance their flexibility, contributing to the quality of the support. The cylindrical headrest can be attached to the frame with a strap or left free, allowing it to be easily repositioned based on posture and use.

Materials and Craftsmanship

The supporting frame is made of solid walnut-stained ash wood, chosen for its strength and rich grain. The upholstery is composed of 72 hand-cut and hand-sewn panels, finished with precise button quilting. This craftsmanship enhances the leather and highlights the artisanal attention to detail dedicated to each piece. The tubular legs are available in polished chrome-plated steel or painted with an ultra-matte onyx finish, allowing you to choose between a brighter contrast or a more subtle, contemporary look.

The Barcelona Daybed can be used as a chaise longue, a casual seat, or a resting surface. It fits perfectly in the living room, bedroom, study, or reading area.
