Design

Mayday was conceived as a practical, straightforward lighting fixture, where every element serves a specific function.

The large handle makes it easy to move the lamp around and can be used to hang it up or to coil the electrical cord when its full length is not required. A built-in cable guide keeps the cord neat and integrated into the overall structure.

The conical, opaline diffuser completes the silhouette with an essential, recognizable geometry, making Mayday a versatile lighting solution that is as functional as it is decorative.

Lighting and functionality

Mayday produces diffused light, filtered through the opaline diffuser to ensure a uniform and comfortable glow.

The push-button switch is conveniently located on the handle, making it easily accessible during use.

The lamp is designed for an LED light source with an E14 base. The recommended bulb is an 8W LED with a luminous flux of 900 lm (not included).

The fixture supports a maximum power of 10W.

Designed for outdoor use

Mayday incorporates specific technical features tailored for outdoor applications.

The included electrical cord is 6 meters long and is suitable for outdoor use. Connection to the mains is provided via a Schuko plug with an IP44 protection rating.

The light source is enclosed within a transparent polymethylmethacrylate capsule, designed to protect it from the elements.

An elastomeric gasket seals the capsule, ensuring an IP65 protection rating for the light source.

Materials and sustainability

The conical, opal-finish diffuser is made from sustainable polypropylene—derived from industrial manufacturing waste—and produced via injection molding.

The assembly system has also been designed with the product's end-of-life in mind: no glue is used to join the components.

This approach facilitates the disassembly of the lamp and the separation of its various materials, supporting a more effective recycling process.

Portability and versatility

With its handle, hook, and 6-meter-long cable, the Mayday lamp is easy to move and can be used in various locations throughout an outdoor space.

The lamp can be placed on a surface or hung using its integrated hook, adapting quickly to the needs of the moment.

When the full length of the cable is not required, the handle doubles as a cable winder, keeping everything tidy and making the lamp easier to carry.

Versatility and adaptability

Mayday is ideal for terraces, porches, and other outdoor spaces where a portable, easily repositionable light source is needed.

The option to either place it on a surface or hang it allows for quick adjustments to the lighting configuration of a space.

The long cable extends the range of use, while the protection of the light source against the elements ensures it is well-suited for outdoor environments.
