Homage to Mondrian is Cappellini's container unit designed by Shiro Kuramata in 1975. A wide and capacious kneading trough, made of MDF panels and equipped with swivel castors. Its main characteristic is the front composition: the Japanese designer realized a piece of furniture which recalled a the great contemporary artist Piet Mondrian's graphic and geometrical patterns. He meant to homage the dutch painter, but also to look for the perfection and balance that have always been characterizing Mondrian's artistic career. The container's unit is available in two fixed colours compositions, with slight differences in size.
